Healthcare is changing. Many medical practices and clinics offer plenty of options for sick care, but physicians have less time to spend during each appointment to educate patients on how to improve their health and wellness. This can cause you to leave the office visit without feeling certain on how to implement those lifestyle changes. It can feel overwhelming to try do this all on your own, but Nestcare™ can help.

Other home health agencies may tell you that they want to help you live better by helping with household chores, preparing meals, providing personal care, and assisting with tasks of daily living. However, at Nestcare we put the "health" into healthcare. We don’t just assist with your daily life; we aim to improve it on every level. We believe healthy living should be easy and accessible. Therefore, we train our staff to not only support the daily care needs of our clients, but to also help them implement healthy habits. We know that our brain and body can change over time, but did you know you have the power to strengthen them at any age as well? Of course you did, but we want to make it easier for you, so we designed the MINDSBOX™.

The MINDSBOX was founded upon five principles of a healthy brain and body. These are Movement, Intellect, Nutrition, Dexterity, and Sensory work. Each month you receive a unique MINDSBOX that includes activities and education related to each of these areas. This means that you will work 1:1 with our care team to strengthen your mind and body in the comfort of your home. This supports improvement in coordination, balance, cognition, mood, memory,  immunity, and more. This can lead to a happier, more fulfilling life with less illness and frustration.

Daily movement has been linked to a decrease in pain, an increase in cognitive health, mental health, and improved sleep. We make it easy by providing simple, functional movements to support your coordination and balance for increased independence.

Brain fitness impacts every area of daily life such as processing speed, memory, attention, focus, response time, and more. At Nestcare we believe in supporting brain fitness across the lifespan. This is why we train our staff on the importance of brain health and also include intellectual activities to improve cognitive function in each MINDSBOX.

Nutrition plays a vital role in physical and emotional health. However, most adults have very limited nutrition training. A Nestcare provider will break it down and give you one simple, actionable nutrition tip each month. We provide the education you need to make informed decisions regarding your nutrition. We even work with your healthcare provider to help make adjustments depending on your individual health and nutrition needs.

Did you know that your grip strength can actually be a predictor of life expectancy? The largest study to date, involving nearly 140,000 people in 17 countries, reported in 2015 that people with lower grip strength had a higher mortality rate and were more likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke. For this reason, we focus on grip strength and dexterity. Each month our MINDSBOX includes an activity designed to support your grip strength and dexterity.

The normal aging process impacts the sensory system. However, your vision, hearing, taste, touch, and smell are all incredibly important to your daily life. Sensory skills can impact your social and emotional health as well as your physical needs, so keeping your sensory system sharp is our goal. We make it easy to continue to build your sensory system by including sensory work in each MINDSBOX. We cover all sensory areas and even include activities that address visual processing, visual field, tactile sensitivity, and auditory skills. We also address taste and smell as a loss of sensation in these areas can put you at risk for nutritional deficiencies.
